– The marketing course for women farmers
Programme: Leonardo da Vinci – Innovation and development, project number: 142398-AT-LMP The importance of direct selling of agricultural products has been on the rise over the past 20 years. Also the demand for high-quality local products and regional specialities has been rising throughout Europe. However, consumer expectations in the area of quality, method of selling, packaging and the overall presentation of these products is rising too. Marketing issues are therefore of utmost importance for small farmers. Women active in agriculture and the local specialities they produce can become a "treasure chest" of European diversity and culinary culture. A strong basis is therefore necessary to improve their marketing skills to allow these farmers to make full use of their potential. What do the Mikromarkt Project products taste like? Have a look at Module No. 1 MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT: To help women active in agriculture develop both their general and specific marketing skills: Support women in their efforts to become professional producers of local specialities and strengthen their marketing competences. The most important means of knowledge transfer will be a web-based programme including a number of tools for comprehensive approach to marketing. The programme will also include modules to improve self-confidence and determination of women to participate in the process of learning. All module materials will be divided in such a way to enable participants to work on both their strengths and weaknesses in the area of marketing. The project will also include an overview of best-practice examples.
